Is it possible to have all powe come from the gound (hot rocks ,lava ,etc) and why is it not fashionable ? - hot rocks

It seems like an infinite free energy of the green line heat is on land or at sea Why can not we have a national or global supply of these places and why it is fashionable to talk about solar and wind energy as an environmentally friendly solution?
